The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) in Sabetha, Kansas, is dedicated to supporting low-income households with essential food assistance. Administered by the Kansas Department for Children and Families, TEFAP delivers free USDA commodity foods five to six times a year to local organizations for distribution. Our goal is to ensure that families have access to nutritious essentials to meet their basic nutritional needs. Each distribution includes a variety of items such as canned vegetables, fruits, juices, meats, cereals, peanut butter, nonfat dry milk, and pasta, providing at least four to ten different food products per household. To benefit from this vital program, clients are encouraged to apply through their home county.
