About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Alexandria, LA, empowers individuals to become advocates for a just and sustainable food system through hands-on training and education. Our fellowship offers a unique opportunity to engage in organic food system education and practical experiences, focusing on equitable access and environmental stewardship. Fellows participate in a six-month immersive program at our Allegheny Farm Campus, where they learn to grow and distribute diverse crops, create community gardens, and enhance food literacy in local schools. This is complemented by a Community Action Year, allowing participants to apply their knowledge in collaboration with regional non-profit organizations, contributing to vital initiatives such as farmers markets and healthy food distribution channels. We are committed to making this fellowship accessible by eliminating tuition fees, ensuring that passionate individuals can pursue their mission to transform food systems without financial barriers. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the fellowship experience running from May to October.
