The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Amite, LA, offers a transformative opportunity for individuals passionate about creating a fair and sustainable food system. Sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, this Fellowship empowers participants to become advocates and educators in organic food practices. By providing comprehensive training without tuition fees, we ensure accessibility for all aspiring Fellows. Throughout a six-month immersive experience at our Allegheny Farm Campus, Fellows learn to grow and distribute diverse crops, implement innovative agricultural education in schools, and enhance community food resources, including managing farmers markets and community gardens. Following this foundational training, Fellows engage in a Community Action Year, partnering with local nonprofit organizations to put their skills into practice and make lasting impacts. We invite you to join us in reshaping our food landscape to promote social, environmental, and economic justice, with applications open until March each year for experiences running from May to October.
