Food for Families / Food for Seniors in Amite, LA, provided by Catholic Charities Archdiocese of New Orleans (CCANO), is dedicated to addressing food insecurity among seniors by offering essential monthly nutritional food boxes. Each box is thoughtfully curated to include a variety of nourishing staples such as canned meats, vegetables, fruits, breakfast cereals, and dairy products, ensuring that seniors have the resources they need to maintain a healthy diet. In addition to food assistance, our program emphasizes nutrition education, empowering participants with knowledge on easy recipes, caloric intake, budgeting for groceries, and overall healthy eating practices. We believe in fostering not just nourishment but also self-sufficiency and well-being for our senior community. Eligible seniors are invited to enroll through the Preliminary Certification application available online, so we can work together towards a healthier tomorrow.
