Families in Transition (FIT) is dedicated to empowering individuals and families in Baker, LA, particularly those in the Gardere Community and South Baton Rouge, who are navigating life’s challenges. We provide a comprehensive range of personalized services aimed at enhancing self-sufficiency and achieving personal goals within a six-month timeframe. Our offerings include coaching and counseling, tutoring, career planning, job search assistance, and financial education, alongside vital support for basic food needs and limited short-term financial assistance prioritized for essential requirements. We believe in fostering independence through non-financial aid whenever possible. Interested individuals can apply through a written application, followed by an oral interview to determine eligibility for our supportive programs.
