Located in Bastrop, LA, the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship empowers individuals to become leaders in creating a socially, environmentally, and economically just food system. By offering a tuition-free program, we ensure that access to vital education in organic farming and sustainable practices is available to all. Our Fellows gain hands-on experience at the Allegheny Farm, where they learn to grow and distribute diverse crops, implement innovative health care education, maintain community gardens, and promote food literacy in schools. Over the course of the Fellowship, individuals will engage in meaningful projects that support farmers markets, enhance access to healthy foods, and strengthen community food networks. Following their immersive training, Fellows embark on a Community Action Year, collaborating with local non-profits to apply their skills and make a tangible impact. Applications are accepted until March for the program running from May to October.
