The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Belle Chasse, LA, empowers individuals to champion a just and sustainable food system through hands-on training and education. Sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, this Fellowship offers an immersive six-month experience at AMI's Allegheny Farm Campus, where participants engage in organic food system education and innovative community projects. From cultivating diversified crops to leading educational initiatives in schools and maintaining community gardens, Fellows actively promote food accessibility and ecological literacy. They also play a vital role in supporting local farmers markets and direct-to-consumer programs, bridging the gap between community needs and healthy food access. With no tuition fees, the program strives for inclusivity and impact, encouraging applicants to submit their applications by March each year for opportunities running from May to October.
