The Backpack Program, part of the Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana located in Bossier City, LA, is dedicated to addressing the pressing issue of childhood hunger by providing essential food assistance to chronically hungry children. Each weekend and holiday, children receive a carefully packed backpack filled with 7-10 pounds of nutritious food, including granola bars, fruit juice, and convenient pop-top canned goods. Our mission is to ensure that these children have access to the nourishment they need to thrive, turning weekends into a time of comfort rather than uncertainty. Together, we strive to meet basic nutritional needs and support our community's most vulnerable youth.
