At the Ochsner Diabetes Management Program in Covington, LA, our mission is to empower adults aged 18 and older with effective tools and knowledge to manage their diabetes—be it type 1, type 2, or gestational diabetes. Accredited by the American Diabetes Association, our program features a dedicated team of certified diabetes educators, composed of experienced registered nurses and registered dietitians. We offer comprehensive Basic Diabetes Group Classes in a single, engaging 5-hour session, where participants can learn about essential topics such as blood sugar monitoring, medication management, prevention and management of complications, and the importance of healthy eating. Each interactive class is designed to foster a supportive environment, featuring diverse learning tools and a delicious lunch. Monthly sessions are available to ensure ongoing support and education.
