About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Crowley, LA, is dedicated to training and empowering individuals to advocate for a food system that is just for all—socially, environmentally, and economically. This impactful program offers organic food system education and provides accessibility by not charging tuition. Fellows engage in a six-month immersive experience at the Allegheny Farm, learning methods to grow diverse crops on market-style farms, implement innovative health care education, maintain community gardens, and teach food and ecological literacy. They also support farmers markets and develop distribution channels to enhance access to healthy food. Following their training, Fellows enter a Community Action Year, collaborating with local non-profits to apply their skills and further community engagement. Applications are accepted until March, with experiences running from May to October.
