About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Farmerville, LA, is dedicated to cultivating a new generation of advocates for a just food system. Our program empowers Fellows through comprehensive, hands-on education in organic food systems, free from tuition fees to ensure accessibility for all. Participants engage in practical experiences that include growing and distributing diversified crops, maintaining school and community gardens, and implementing innovative health care educational sessions. By fostering food and ecological literacy, supporting farmers markets, and developing channels for increased access to healthy foods, our Fellows play a vital role in their communities. The Fellowship encompasses a transformative six-month experiential learning period followed by a Community Action Year, where they apply their skills alongside regional non-profits. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the fellowship running from May to October, empowering passionate individuals to lead change in food systems across the region.
