About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Ferriday, LA, is dedicated to training and empowering future leaders in sustainable agriculture and food justice. We provide an accessible, hands-on educational experience that promotes a food system that is socially, environmentally, and economically equitable. Our program offers a comprehensive six-month residency at the Allegheny Farm, where selected Fellows engage in organic food system education, cultivate diversified crops, implement innovative health care education, and maintain vibrant school and community gardens. Additionally, our Fellows support farmers markets, develop distribution channels for healthy food access, and participate in community food coalition activities. Through mentoring and collaboration with local non-profits, they facilitate real change in their communities. We invite passionate individuals to apply by March for the opportunity to embark on this transformative journey from May to October each year.
