MOVE! Weight Management Program, located in Gretna, LA, is dedicated to enhancing the health and well-being of Veterans through a tailored approach to weight management and health promotion. Our mission is to ensure that every Veteran receiving care at VA facilities is screened annually for obesity, with a focus on connecting them to appropriate weight management services that cater to their individual needs and preferences. We offer a variety of evidence-based care options including group sessions, telephone lifestyle coaching, and the innovative TeleMOVE! program, which provides in-home messaging and clinician support as needed. Additionally, Veterans can utilize the MOVE! Coach mobile app for self-directed weight management. For those who continue to face challenges with excess weight, we provide access to weight loss medications and bariatric surgery after participating in MOVE! services.
