Food for Families / Food for Seniors in Homer, LA, a program under Catholic Charities Archdiocese of New Orleans (CCANO), is dedicated to providing vital food assistance to eligible seniors through monthly nutritional food boxes. Each box is thoughtfully crafted to include essential items such as canned meats, vegetables, fruits, breakfast cereals, cheese, pasta or rice, shelf-stable milk, and peanut butter, ensuring a variety of nutritious options. In addition to food distribution, we prioritize education, offering seniors useful nutritional information, recipes that utilize commodity foods, and strategies for healthy eating on a budget. Our mission is to empower seniors by enhancing their access to emergency food and fostering a supportive community where they can thrive.
