In Independence, LA, Food for Families / Food for Seniors, part of Catholic Charities Archdiocese of New Orleans, is dedicated to providing essential food assistance to seniors in need. Our program offers monthly nutritional food boxes filled with a variety of nutritious items to help maintain a balanced diet, including canned meats, vegetables, fruits, and vital staples like cheese and milk. Alongside these food provisions, we empower our participating seniors through comprehensive nutrition education that covers easy cooking recipes, tips on maximizing food budgets, and guidance on healthy eating habits. Together, we strive to foster a strong, healthy community by ensuring that seniors have access to the food and knowledge they need to thrive.
