About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, located in La Place, LA, is dedicated to training and empowering individuals to advocate for a food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic justice. Through our tuition-free fellowship program, participants engage in hands-on education about organic food systems while gaining vital skills in growing and distributing diverse crops on market-model farms. Our Fellows also have the opportunity to implement innovative healthcare educational sessions, maintain community and school gardens, and integrate food and ecological literacy into various educational environments. Additionally, they support local farmers markets and cultivate distribution channels that enhance access to nutritious foods, all while collaborating with regional nonprofits during their Community Action Year. The Fellowship runs from May to October, making our application process accessible until March each year, and aims to nurture the next generation of food advocates committed to fostering sustainable and equitable food practices.
