About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Madisonville, LA, is dedicated to nurturing a new generation of leaders committed to creating a food system that is equitable, sustainable, and beneficial for all. Through comprehensive training and hands-on experience, our Fellows learn about organic food systems, engage in innovative practices, and expand access to nutritious food within their communities. The Fellowship empowers participants to grow and distribute diverse crops, implement educational initiatives in schools, maintain community gardens, and support local farmers' markets. Over six transformative months at our agricultural campus, followed by a Community Action Year, our Fellows apply their knowledge in collaboration with regional nonprofits, fostering a culture of food and ecological literacy. We believe in breaking down barriers to education, which is why we do not charge tuition, ensuring that anyone with the passion to learn and advocate for food justice can participate in this enriching experience.
