The Backpack Program in Mansfield, LA, operated by the Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana, is dedicated to alleviating weekend hunger for chronically hungry children by providing essential food assistance. Each week, participating children receive a carefully packed backpack containing 7 to 10 pounds of nutritious food items, including granola bars, fruit juice, and pop-top canned goods, ensuring they have access to meals over the weekend and during holiday breaks. Our mission is to meet the basic nutritional needs of vulnerable children in our community and support their well-being and development.
