Located in Metairie, Louisiana, the Parents as Teachers - Region 1 MIECHV program is dedicated to supporting the health and well-being of pregnant women and families with young children through personalized, no-cost family support and coaching. This initiative, part of the Louisiana Department of Health's Bureau of Family Health, connects families with registered nurses and trained parent educators who visit in-home or at mutually agreed locations, offering critical health education, guidance, and referrals to relevant community services. Our goal is to empower families to develop positive parenting skills, build confidence, and achieve their personal aspirations, whether that means returning to school or enhancing their economic self-sufficiency.
