The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Patterson, LA, is dedicated to fostering a just and sustainable food system through hands-on training and empowerment. By promoting accessibility—without tuition fees—participants gain valuable knowledge in organic farming practices and community engagement. During a six-month experiential program at the Allegheny Farm Campus, Fellows learn to cultivate diversified crops, run educational sessions on health, maintain community gardens, and enhance food literacy in schools. Afterward, they enter a Community Action Year, where they apply their skills with local non-profits to increase access to healthy foods, support farmers markets, and mentor future Fellows.
