Food for Families / Food for Seniors, located in Ponchatoula, LA, is a vital program under Catholic Charities Archdiocese of New Orleans, dedicated to supporting the nutritional needs of eligible seniors. We provide monthly food assistance through thoughtfully curated food boxes that include essential items such as canned meats, vegetables, fruits, grains, cheese, and milk, ensuring that seniors have access to nutritious meals. In addition to food distribution, we emphasize nutrition education by offering practical resources like easy-to-make recipes and tips for managing food budgets effectively. Our goal is to empower seniors to maintain a healthy diet while alleviating the stress of food insecurity, making it easier for them to enjoy wholesome, nutritious meals each month. To get started with our program and access food assistance, eligible seniors can complete the Preliminary Certification application form available through our organization.
