About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Prairieville, LA, cultivates leaders dedicated to transforming our food systems into models of social, environmental, and economic justice. We empower Fellows through comprehensive training that emphasizes organic food system education, enabling them to become advocates and educators within their communities. Throughout this immersive program, participants engage in hands-on experiences at our farm, where they learn to grow and distribute diverse crops, implement innovative health education initiatives, develop school and community gardens, and promote food literacy in education. Our Fellows also play a critical role in supporting local farmers' markets and enhancing access to healthy foods through community food coalitions. With no tuition fees to ensure accessibility, this Fellowship offers a six-month intensive training followed by a Community Action Year, where Fellows apply their skills in partnership with regional non-profits. Applications are accepted until March for the program commencing from May to October.
