The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Saint Francisville, LA, is dedicated to training and empowering individuals to advocate for a just food system that is socially, environmentally, and economically sustainable. This immersive program offers a unique opportunity to participate in hands-on, organic food system education at the scenic Allegheny Farm in Highland County, VA, without any tuition fees to ensure accessibility for all. Throughout the six-month Fellowship, participants engage in practical experiences, including growing and distributing diverse crops, running community gardens, and facilitating educational workshops focused on food and ecological literacy. Additionally, Fellows support local farmers' markets and collaborate with regional non-profits during their Community Action Year, applying their knowledge to enhance food access and participate in community food coalition efforts. Applications are welcomed until March each year, with the Fellowship experience running from May to October.
