The Backpack Program, part of the Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana, is dedicated to combating childhood hunger in Shreveport, LA by supplying chronically hungry children with nutritious food packs to take home for weekends and holidays. Each weekly bag, weighing between 7 to 10 pounds, is carefully filled with essential items such as granola bars, fruit juice, and easy-to-open canned food, ensuring that these children can meet their basic nutritional needs. Our mission is to provide reliable food assistance that fosters health and well-being, empowering families to thrive even in difficult times.
