The Ochsner Diabetes Management Program in Slidell, LA, is dedicated to supporting individuals aged 18 and older living with type 1 and type 2 diabetes, as well as gestational diabetes. Accredited by the American Diabetes Association, our compassionate team of certified diabetes educators, including registered nurses and registered dietitians, provides comprehensive care through interactive education. We offer monthly Basic Diabetes Group Classes, conducted in a single, engaging 5-hour session that includes a thoughtful lunch. Our classes cover essential topics such as diabetes management, blood sugar monitoring, medication guidelines, and healthy eating practices. Participants learn to read food labels, count carbohydrates, and set achievable goals while addressing stress and psychosocial needs.
