Parents as Teachers - Region 1 MIECHV is a dedicated program based in Westwego, LA, that offers comprehensive support to pregnant women and families with young children through the Louisiana Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting (LA MIECHV) initiative. As a no-cost, voluntary service provided by the Louisiana Department of Health's Bureau of Family Health, our mission is to enhance the health and well-being of families. We pair families with experienced registered nurses or parent educators who deliver tailored education, guidance, and essential referrals directly within the family's home or preferred setting. Our services focus on health education, building positive parenting skills, and helping families achieve personal goals like returning to work or school.
