Located in Zachary, LA, the Diabetes & Nutrition Center at Our Lady of the Lake is dedicated to empowering individuals, both adults and children, in managing diabetes and nutrition disorders. We offer a range of comprehensive programs, including Diabetes Self-Management Training (DSMT) for all diabetes types—Type 1, Type 2, secondary, and gestational—led by our team of certified diabetes educators, registered nurses, and registered dietitians. With a physician's referral, clients receive an initial assessment, customized educational plans, and if needed, insulin pump training to enhance their understanding and management of diabetes. Additionally, our Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) services provide personalized dietary guidance for conditions such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, kidney disease, and weight management. We also host a free monthly Diabetes Education and Awareness Group, which invites individuals with diabetes and their families to engage in discussions that address both the physical and emotional challenges of living with the condition, fostering a supportive community aimed at improving quality of life.
