The Grocery Assistance Program (GAP) in Capitol Heights, MD, is dedicated to ensuring that individuals who are aging in place or unable to shop for themselves receive the vital food assistance they need. Our compassionate volunteers provide a lifeline by shopping for and delivering groceries directly to clients’ homes, allowing them to maintain their independence. Clients only pay for the groceries purchased, as there is no fee for this essential service. In addition to shopping and delivering, our volunteers are happy to assist in putting groceries away, making the process as seamless and supportive as possible for those who receive home-delivered meals or require additional grocery shopping assistance.
