The Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) serves the community of Cumberland, MD, by empowering food insecure, limited-resource youth and families with essential nutrition education. Our mission is to equip families with practical skills and knowledge to prepare nutritious meals on a budget, make healthier food choices at home and in grocery stores, and ultimately enhance their food security and overall health. Through a series of culturally sensitive workshops, participants engage in 10-12 lessons delivered in small groups or one-on-one settings, with classes available in both English and Spanish. EFNEP is dedicated to fostering a healthier community by promoting effective food assistance and nutrition practices that last a lifetime.
