Located in Jessup, MD, Cancer Self-Management: Thriving and Surviving offers a free, 6-week program designed to empower individuals navigating the challenges of cancer. Available both in-person and via Zoom, this program fosters a supportive environment where participants can share their experiences and uncover effective solutions together. Caregivers are encouraged to join in order to enrich the support network. Participants will learn to maintain balanced nutrition, reduce feelings of fatigue and frustration, enhance sleep quality, and develop coping strategies for uncertainty. The program also equips attendees with the knowledge to make informed decisions regarding treatment and complementary therapies, and promotes effective communication with family, friends, and healthcare professionals—all with the goal of enhancing overall well-being and resilience during difficult times.
