The Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) in La Plata, MD, is dedicated to empowering food insecure, limited-resource youth and families with essential nutrition education. Our mission focuses on teaching families how to prepare nutritious meals on a budget, make healthier choices at home and in grocery stores, and ultimately enhance their food security and overall well-being. Through a series of engaging workshops, participants receive 10-12 lessons, delivered in a culturally sensitive manner, either in small groups or one-on-one. We cater to the diverse needs of our community by providing instruction in both English and Spanish, ensuring that everyone has access to vital health and nutrition knowledge.
