MOVE! Weight Management Program, located in La Plata, MD, is dedicated to enhancing the health and well-being of Veterans through effective weight management and health promotion initiatives. Our mission is to ensure that every Veteran receiving care at VA facilities is annually screened for obesity, with tailored referrals to suitable weight management services. We offer a variety of care options, including group sessions, telephone lifestyle coaching, and TeleMOVE!, which provides in-home messaging and clinician support as needed. For those who prefer a self-guided approach, the MOVE! Coach mobile app is available. Additionally, we provide access to weight loss medications and bariatric surgery for Veterans who have struggled with weight management despite participating in the MOVE! program. Each facility may offer different services, so we encourage Veterans interested in weight loss to connect with their local MOVE! Coordinator or VA provider to learn more about how to get started.
