The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship based in Westminster, MD, is dedicated to fostering a just and sustainable food system through education and advocacy. Sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, this transformative program empowers Fellows to become leaders in organic food systems, without the barrier of tuition to ensure accessibility for all. Over six months at the scenic Allegheny Farm Campus, Fellows engage in hands-on learning while focusing on growing and distributing diversified crops, implementing innovative health care education, and supporting community gardens and farmers markets. Following their immersive learning experience, Fellows participate in a Community Action Year, partnering with regional non-profits to apply their skills and knowledge. Through initiatives aimed at enhancing food literacy and increasing access to healthy food, the Fellowship cultivates a network of change-makers committed to building resilient communities.
