The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Bolivar, MO is dedicated to training and empowering individuals to advocate for a food system that upholds social, environmental, and economic justice. This unique fellowship offers participants a comprehensive, hands-on education in organic food systems without tuition to ensure accessibility for all. Fellows engage deeply through experiential learning on the Allegheny Farm Campus, where they cultivate diversified crops, implement innovative health care educational sessions, and maintain community gardens. Additionally, they learn to integrate food and ecological literacy into educational settings, support local farmers markets, and develop distribution channels to enhance access to nutritious foods. Following six months of intensive training, selected Fellows embark on a Community Action Year, partnering with regional non-profits to make a meaningful impact in their communities. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the fellowship experience typically running from May to October.
