The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Saint Joseph, MO, is dedicated to nurturing a new generation of advocates for a food system that champions social, environmental, and economic justice. Our program offers a comprehensive and accessible education in organic farming and food systems without tuition costs, ensuring that everyone can participate. During their six-month hands-on residency at the Allegheny Farm Campus, fellows engage in diverse activities, including growing and distributing crops, implementing health-oriented education sessions, and maintaining community gardens. They also gain valuable experience in food and ecological literacy, support local farmers markets, and develop channels to increase access to healthy foods. After their fellowship, participants enter a Community Action Year, where they apply their knowledge and skills in collaboration with regional non-profit organizations, continuing their commitment to advancing food assistance initiatives and community well-being.
