The Ida Mae Patterson Center for Maternal and Infant Wellness, located in Smithville, MO, is dedicated to fostering the health and wellbeing of African-American childbearing individuals and their families through our innovative Village Circle Approach™. Our center provides Community-Embedded Group Prenatal Care that emphasizes perinatal education, informed consent, and community support in a culturally affirming environment. By bringing pregnant clients together in supportive cohorts, we aim to empower them with knowledge and solidarity while actively working to dismantle the harmful effects of racism prevalent in traditional prenatal care.
