About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
At the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Aberdeen, MS, we are dedicated to training and empowering individuals to champion a sustainable food system that embodies social, environmental, and economic justice. Our program offers a unique opportunity for selected Fellows to spend six months at our Allegheny Farm Campus, where they engage in hands-on learning about organic agriculture and food systems. By eliminating tuition costs, we ensure that this essential education is accessible to all. During their Fellowship, participants gain practical experience in growing and distributing diverse crops, implementing educational initiatives related to health care, maintaining community and school gardens, and fostering ecological literacy. Additionally, they play a vital role in supporting farmers markets and enhancing access to healthy foods through innovative distribution channels. After their immersive experience, Fellows transition into a Community Action Year, applying their knowledge in collaboration with local non-profits to create meaningful change. Applications are open until March each year, with the fellowship running from May to October.
