About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Amory, MS, is dedicated to training and empowering individuals to champion a food system that values social, environmental, and economic justice. This immersive program offers organic food system education without tuition fees, ensuring accessibility for all aspiring advocates. Fellows engage in hands-on experiences, working with local partners to grow diverse crops, maintain school and community gardens, and implement innovative health care educational sessions. In addition, they integrate food and ecological literacy into school activities, support farmers markets, and enhance access to healthy foods through effective distribution channels. The fellowship includes a six-month experiential residency at the Allegheny Farm Campus, followed by a Community Action Year, where participants apply their knowledge in collaboration with regional non-profits. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the fellowship running from May to October.
