About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Batesville, MS, empowers aspiring advocates and educators to champion a just food system through hands-on experience and comprehensive training. Our Fellowship offers a unique opportunity for selected candidates to participate in a six-month immersive program at the Allegheny Farm, where they will gain essential knowledge in organic agriculture and sustainable practices. Fellows will engage in diverse activities, such as growing and distributing crops, maintaining community gardens, and leading educational initiatives that enhance food literacy. Following the residential phase, participants will embark on a Community Action Year, collaborating with local non-profits to implement impactful projects that improve access to healthy food and foster community resilience. We believe that by promoting equity in the food system and offering our program without tuition charges, we can create a more inclusive environment for those dedicated to making a difference in their communities. Applications are accepted until March each year, with experiences typically taking place from May to October.
