The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, located in Biloxi, MS, is dedicated to training and empowering individuals to champion a fair, sustainable, and environmentally responsible food system. Our fellowship offers a transformative, no-cost program that combines practical, hands-on learning with community engagement. Fellows immerse themselves in organic food system education, cultivating diversified crops on a market-style farm, and implementing innovative health care educational sessions. They play a vital role in nurturing school and community gardens, teaching food and ecological literacy within educational settings, and enhancing access to fresh, healthy foods through farmer’s markets and direct sales. Over six months of experiential, residential training at the Allegheny Farm Campus, followed by a year of community action, Fellows gain the skills needed to drive positive change in food and agriculture while actively collaborating with regional non-profits to further promote food justice. Applications are accepted annually until March, with the program running from May to October.
