The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Brookhaven, MS is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of advocates for a food system that champions social, environmental, and economic justice. Our program empowers selected Fellows with comprehensive training, enabling them to become effective teachers in the realm of sustainable agriculture. Over six immersive months at our residential program, participants engage in organic food system education, supporting initiatives such as community gardens, farmers markets, and innovative health care strategies. Our goal is to increase access to healthy foods through diverse crop production and direct-to-consumer distribution channels. Following this training, Fellows transition into a Community Action Year, collaborating with local non-profits to implement what they've learned and make a tangible impact in their communities. We believe in accessibility, therefore, there is no tuition fee for this transformative experience, and applications are accepted until March for the following year's program during the growing season from May to October.
