The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Byram, MS is dedicated to cultivating future leaders who advocate for a food system that prioritizes social equity, environmental sustainability, and economic viability. Through a comprehensive, tuition-free program, this fellowship offers hands-on training in organic food systems, equipping selected Fellows with the knowledge and skills needed to teach and promote food and ecological literacy within their communities. During the six-month experiential residency at Allegheny Farm, participants engage in diverse activities, such as growing and distributing crops on a market-style farm, maintaining community gardens, and implementing innovative health care education. The fellowship culminates in a Community Action Year, where Fellows collaborate with regional non-profits to enhance food assistance initiatives and expand access to healthy food. Applications are accepted until March, with the fellowship year running from May to October, inviting passionate individuals to join in the movement for a just food system.
