About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, based in Carriere, MS, is dedicated to cultivating a new generation of advocates for a just, sustainable food system. Sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, this fellowship empowers individuals through comprehensive education in organic farming practices and community engagement. With no tuition fees, we promote accessibility for all aspiring Fellows. Throughout a six-month immersive experience at our Allegheny Farm Campus, participants receive hands-on training in diversified crop cultivation, health-focused educational initiatives, and food literacy integration into local schools. Our Fellows play a vital role in enhancing food equity by supporting farmers markets, developing channels for healthy food access, and collaborating with non-profits in their Community Action Year. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the program running from May to October. Join us as we transform the landscape of food systems together.
