At the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Diamondhead, MS, we are dedicated to cultivating a more equitable and sustainable food system. Our program empowers participants to become passionate advocates and educators, focusing on socially, environmentally, and economically just practices. By offering a tuition-free, immersive six-month training period at our partner farm, we ensure accessibility for all aspiring Fellows. Participants engage in hands-on experiences such as growing and distributing diverse crops, leading health-focused educational sessions, and establishing community gardens. Additionally, they develop food and ecological literacy within educational institutions, support farmers markets, and enhance food access channels. Following their fellowship, our graduates enter a Community Action Year, where they collaborate with local non-profit organizations to implement the knowledge they gained. Applications are welcomed until March each year for the fellowship that typically runs from May to October, allowing individuals to make a meaningful impact in their communities through food assistance initiatives and sustainable farming practices.
