The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship based in Gulfport, MS, empowers individuals to become advocates for a just and sustainable food system. This transformative program sponsors and trains a select group of Fellows to engage in hands-on education about organic food systems. Over a six-month experiential residency at the Allegheny Farm Campus, participants learn practical skills in growing and distributing diverse crops, running community gardens, and integrating food and ecological literacy into educational initiatives. Following their residency, Fellows participate in a Community Action Year, collaborating with regional non-profits to expand access to healthy food, support farmers markets, and vie for innovative health care solutions. With no tuition fees, the Fellowship emphasizes accessibility and inclusivity, nurturing the next generation of leaders committed to social, environmental, and economic justice in food systems.
