About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Holly Springs, MS, is dedicated to cultivating future leaders who advocate for a food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic justice. Through a comprehensive six-month experiential learning program, selected Fellows immerse themselves in organic food system education at the Allegheny Farm. Our initiative promotes accessibility by waiving tuition fees, allowing a diverse range of participants to engage in vital activities such as growing and distributing diverse crops, implementing innovative health education sessions, and integrating food and ecological literacy into local schools. Additionally, Fellows actively support community efforts like farmers markets and community food coalitions, while also mentoring the next generation of leaders. This transformative fellowship culminates in a Community Action Year, where Fellows partner with regional non-profits to apply their training and make a tangible impact on food access and education, enriching the communities they serve.
