At the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Houston, MS, we are dedicated to nurturing the next generation of advocates for a just food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic equity. Our program empowers selected Fellows to engage in hands-on learning through a six-month immersive experience at our Allegheny Farm Campus, where they gain essential skills in organic food systems education and sustainable agriculture. We strive to make our Fellowship accessible by offering tuition-free training. Throughout their journey, Fellows will work on diverse initiatives, from operating a market-style farm to developing educational programs that enhance food and ecological literacy in schools. Participants also play a vital role in supporting local farmers' markets, community gardens, and initiatives that boost healthy food access. The experience culminates in a Community Action Year, where each Fellow applies their knowledge in collaboration with regional non-profits, driving meaningful change across communities. Applications are welcome until March every year for a fulfilling experience scheduled from May to October.
