The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, based in Madison, MS, is dedicated to cultivating the next generation of advocates for a just food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic integrity. Through its comprehensive program, the Fellowship sponsors and trains individuals to engage with local communities, grow and distribute diverse crops on market-style farms, and enhance food and ecological literacy in educational settings. Participants gain hands-on experience at the Allegheny Farm Campus, where they delve into organic food systems education and implement innovative food initiatives, from school gardens to farmers markets. With no tuition fees, the program ensures accessibility for all aspiring advocates. Selected Fellows enjoy a transformative six-month residency followed by a Community Action Year, collaborating with regional non-profits to apply their knowledge and mentoring future cohorts. Apply by March to embark on this impactful journey, which runs from May to October each year.
