Located in Madison, MS, Stewpot’s Food Pantry is dedicated to combating food insecurity by providing essential groceries to individuals and families in need throughout Hinds County. We understand that hunger affects many, whether someone resides in a home, hotel, encampment, or on the streets, and we strive to serve all who seek help without turning anyone away. When individuals visit, we do require an ID and proof of residence, such as a utility bill or lease, to ensure efficient service. Additionally, we offer 'travel bags' equipped with non-perishable items for those who may not have access to cooking facilities. With great demand, we encourage appointments for a seamless shopping experience, while also remaining ready to assist during emergencies. Our pantry thrives through the generous support of donors, local congregations, civic organizations, and partnerships with the Mississippi Food Network, Extra Table, Gleaners, and Hub for the Hungry. Volunteers play a vital role in our operations, helping to welcome visitors, sort donations, and organize food drives that keep our shelves stocked.
