The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Magnolia, MS, empowers passionate individuals to be champions of an equitable food system that is socially, environmentally, and economically just. Sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, this transformative fellowship offers training and hands-on experience in organic food system education, allowing Fellows to actively engage in initiatives that grow and distribute diverse crops, maintain community gardens, and enhance food literacy. Throughout the six-month immersive experience at AMI's farm, participants will not only learn but will also implement innovative health care educational sessions and foster local farmers markets, directly promoting food assistance and access to healthy foods within their communities. The journey continues with a Community Action Year, where Fellows utilize their skills in partnership with regional nonprofit organizations. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the fellowship experience running from May to October.
